Wealth Access TrustDesk Data Feed Upgrade: Frequently Asked Questions

What is this upgrade?

Wealth Access has rebuilt the data engine that processes your data from the ground up. This system, called Universal ETL (UETL), replaces the legacy data processing infrastructure with a faster, more reliable, and more transparent approach to getting your data from its source into the platform.

Why did you rebuild it?

The old system had accumulated technical debt over many years. Data processing could take hours, errors were difficult to trace, and a single bad data point could sometimes hold up an entire file from loading. Our new data engine is faster, scalable, and easier to monitor and troubleshoot.

Does this affect the data I'm getting from TrustDesk?

Yes. The data still comes from the same source, but it now flows through a cleaner, more direct process. You'll see some new fields that weren't available before, some display changes, improved accuracy in areas like gain/loss tracking, and additional user creation automation.

Do I need to do anything?

No. Your update will happen automatically over your scheduled go-live weekend. You don't need to change any settings or take any action before or after.

YOUR GO-LIVE SCHEDULE

When does my firm's TrustDesk data feed upgrade happen?

Your CSM will confirm your specific go-live window. Upgrades are scheduled over weekends to minimize any disruption to your team.

What happens over the go-live weekend?

On Saturday, your current data feed will be switched off. On Sunday, your new data feed goes live. Expect to see these changes on Tuesday, when your data will be running on the new data engine.

Will there be any data gaps over the weekend?

No.

What if something looks wrong when I log in Tuesday?

Submit a ticket to customercare@wealthaccess.com. We have team members available specifically to support any issues that come up.

WHAT'S CHANGING IN THE PLATFORM

What will look different when I log in? The most visible changes are:

  • Cash positions: Instead of a single net cash line on the holdings page, you'll now see two separate lines: principal cash and income cash. This will always be visible, even if the two amounts net to zero.
  • New holdings-level data fields: Estimated income, yield to market, yield to maturity, maturity date, annual interest rate, and annual interest rate amount are now available. These fields are visible in the updated Wealth Access UI.
  • Gain/loss module: Income distributions (including dividends, interest, and capital gains) are now captured as realized activity. Previously, only reinvested distributions were tracked; non-reinvested distributions were missed.
  • Transaction reversals: When a transaction is reversed, the original transaction and any associated gain/loss records will now be correctly hidden. This was a known source of discrepancies in the past.

I currently see a net cash position. Will that go away?

Yes. The single net cash line will be replaced by the two separate principal and income cash lines. The information is the same, it's just more granular now.

What are the new data fields at the holdings level, and do I need to do anything to see them?

The new fields (ie. estimated income, yield to market, yield to maturity, maturity date, annual interest rate, and annual interest rate amount) are processed automatically. To see them in the platform, your firm needs to be on the updated Wealth Access UI. If you're not sure whether you have access, contact your CSM.

My historical gain/loss data looks inaccurate. What are my options?

If your historical realized gain/loss data is materially wrong, the cleanest solution in most cases is to clear it and start fresh from your go-live date. This is similar to how gain/loss tracking works when any new account or feed starts, there's a starting point, and history builds from there. Talk to your CSM if this is a concern for your firm.

Will unrealized gains be affected?

Unrealized gains are delivered as a current snapshot each day from the source system, so they are not impacted by historical data concerns. You'll see accurate unrealized positions after your go-live.

NEW FIELDS AND DATA AVAILABILITY

Will I be able to see historical data for the new fields like estimated income and yield to maturity?

No. Since these fields weren't ingested before, there's no historical data to display. You'll see values for these fields going forward from your go-live date. The rate-based fields (yield to maturity, yield to market, etc.) reflect current-day values and aren't historical in nature anyway.

Will the new data fields appear in the legacy UI?

Most of the new fields (estimated income, yield to market, yield to maturity, maturity date, annual interest rate, and annual interest rate amount) are only visible in the updated Wealth Access UI. The principal/income cash split will appear in both the legacy and updated UI. Talk to your CSM if you'd like to learn more about moving to the updated UI.

What about advisor-to-investor mapping and auto-assigning users to accounts?

Automated advisor-to-investor mapping is coming but is not part of this initial release. It will be introduced in a future phase once additional feed files are incorporated.

PERFORMANCE RELIABILITY

How much faster will my data process?

The transformation layer (the step that reads incoming files and determines what needs to go into the database) is targeting under 15 minutes. This is a dramatic improvement over the legacy system, which could take up to several hours and was prone to delays caused by processes blocking each other. Loading times for larger files are still being optimized, but the overall direction is significantly faster and more consistent.

What happens if there's a problem with a file?

Under the old system, a single bad data point in a file could cause the entire file to fail to load, meaning nothing got updated. Under the new system, a bad record is logged and skipped, but the rest of the file loads normally. This eliminates a whole category of issues where no data appeared simply because of one problematic row deep in a large file.

How will Wealth Access monitor issues going forward?

The new system streams detailed logs to monitoring tools in real time. This means our team can identify exactly which file, which record, and which data point caused an issue, without having to manually dig through files. Over time, we'll be building more tooling and dashboards on top of this so that operational visibility improves for everyone.

SUPPORT

Who do I contact if I have questions before my go-live?

Reach out to your CSM. They're your primary point of contact for scheduling, questions, and anything that comes up during or after the transition.

Will there be any guidance on what to look for after go-live?

Yes. Your CSM will walk you through what to check when you log in after your upgrade. We'll also have support resources available during go-live weekends.

Are all Wealth Access clients getting the TrustDesk data feed upgrade?

Yes. All clients with TrustDesk data feeds are getting the upgrade. The rollout is happening in scheduled windows over several weeks to manage the process carefully and ensure a smooth experience for each firm.
